Pizza Please
Two new studies conclude that pizza fights cancer and may cut risk of heart disease by up to 30 percent. The first study covered about 8,000 Italians.
Those who ate the most pizza apparently had the lowest risk of certain types of cancer, including those of the mouth, throat and colon. For example, of 1,225 patients with colon cancer, the highest number, 503, ate no pizza, 473 ate pizza occasionally and the smallest number, 249, dined on pizza regularly.
“We knew that tomato sauce was protective against certain tumors, but we certainly didn’t expect that pizza as a whole would provide such strong protection,” the lead author, Silvano Gallus of the research institute in Milan, Italy, told an Italian newspaper.
As a Youth Pastor and father of three boys, I eat alot of pizza. This is good news indeed!
