Don't Play In The Mud P4
Serve God Eagerly – Separate yourself to do good works (v14)

Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). He came to give everyone a chance to get their mud hosed off – to be sanctified and set apart. Jesus also commissioned us who are sanctified to “go into all the world” and do as He did (Mark 16:15).

Titus 3:3-8
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

Doing what is good is the result of sanctification. As we are separated from sin so that we can separate ourselves to be devoted to God, we are now able to accomplish His will.

Paul was telling Titus in his letter…now that we are sanctified and cleansed from our sin, and now that we have been set apart to have an ongoing relationship with God, we must now “set an example by doing what is good” (2:7)…be “eager to do what is good" (2:14)…be "ready to do what is good” (3:1)…and “careful to devote themselves to doing what is good” (3:8).

Don’t play in the mud!
- Separate yourself from sin
- Separate yourself to God
- Separate yourself to do good works

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
