A Father's Wisdom

As a kid I remembering hearing some humerous words of wisdom that still hold some truth.
1. Don't spit in the wind
2. Don't pull on Superman's cape
3. Don't sit on Batman's car

Those little tid-bits of wisdom, although somewhat silly, have true principles connected to them. The truth that stands out to me is THINK BEFORE YOU ACT.

Now, I realize that the whole story has yet to be discovered concerning the tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo, but perhaps there is something to be learned there as well. I feel terrible for the family and friends of Carlos Sousa and our prayers are with them, but it's probable that someone didn't think before they acted.

As we learned from Sir Issac Newton, "every action has an equal and opposite reaction." Adam and Eve learned that truth in the Garden when they ate the fruit of the tree that God told them not to (Genesis 3). Cain, Pharaoh, the prophets of Baal, King Saul, and Ananias - they all learned the hard way about that equal and opposite reaction called the consequences of disobedience. All of our actions have consequences but none as severe as sin.

Today's words of wisdom - don't provoke the tiger! Think before you act.
