Waiting to Exhale

Have you eveer been praying for something for awhile but it seems like God either isn't listening, or He just hasn't answered you yet? They say patience is a virtue, unfortunately, it hasn't been one of mine lately. I'm not good at waiting. In fact, my whole generation isn't good at waiting. Worse yet, our current generation of students is suffering with the same issue and is failing.

We have a generation of anxious, stressed out, quick-fix students because of a society that lacks patience. We want our fast food meals, easy money, disposable relationships, and instant success at the cost of everyone else. Now there is a mouth full that's hard to swallow. Here are some words from King David about patience.

"Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your ways to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him" (Psalm 37:3-7).

What an encouraging scripture for you to chew on as you consider your need for more patience. Don't just read it and move on. Meditate on it. Ask questions. Study and research it's full meaning for your life. Apply the principles and watch as God moves in your life!
