Hell Day

I cannot express in words to you the way I feel about October 31st. I call it "hell day" because its hell's favorite day of the year. Today is to us Christians what Easter is to the devil and his deamons. They celebrate this day because of it's evil intent and implications. Unfortunately, millions of people also celebrate this day without even realizing it's reality. "Happy Holloween" they say. What could possibly be "happy" or celebratory concerning a day when we honor death, evil, fear, witchcraft, demonolgy and the devil?

What really stokes my fire is how Neshannock Elementary (where my 2nd & 4th grader attend) embraces this day. They don't just hang up cute little bats and ghosts with smiles. No, they have a rotting corpse coming out of a grave in the middle of the hall. They have a mechanical demon that is on a sensor so that when you walk by it floats up and down the wall with an evil laugh. They then continue their attempt to be politically correct by allowing them to dress up as gory and scary as they so desire so they can have a "costume parade" and show their peers.

This angers me as a parent and a Christian. Our society is so intent on being politically correct so as not to offend anyone. We accomodate and pacify others at the cost of our own morality. We fear man more than we fear God. That scares me more than this nasty "holiday".

Oh, by the way, don't expect to see any manger scenes or expect that your child will hear the true meaning of Christmas from our schools. That wouldn't be politically correct not to mention the whole separating of church and state thing.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.
