Pornography Awareness

Pornography has become a part of our culture here in America. From it's subtlest forms in magazines like Glamour, Maxium, and Sports Illustrated's famous swim suit edition, to the more graphic material sold at adult book stores, pornography has brainwashed millions into thinking that it's acceptable and innocent. I would have a little more grace for such people if their stupidity was based on ignorance. However, ignorance is not their excuse, greed is.

Millions of people expose their minds to pornography in the privacy of their homes through pay-per-view and other cable television programing, not to mention the countless internet web sites that are at their fingertips. It is a multi-billion dollar industry. Unfortunately, because of the industry's greed and lack of an adequate monotoring system, it's the truly innocent that pay the price for their stupidity.

DID YOU KNOW...
- There are more outlets of hard-core pornography in America than McDonald's restaurants.
- An estimated 70% of all pornography (magazines & videos) ends up in the hands of children.
- The median age of first time contact with pornography among adult sex addicts is 11.

"It's not our fault. Besides, what harm could it do?", they respond. Are they that stupid? No. They are that greedy. Perhaps they are even caught up in it themselves. Here are some more stats for those idiots.

- Sexually trasmitted diseases strike more children per year than polio did in the 11-year epidemic between 1942-1953.
- States with the highest readership of "men's magazines" have the highest incidence of reported rape.
- 86% of rapists admit to regular use of pornography, with 75% admitting actual imitation of pornographic scenes in commission of sex crimes.
- In a study of 43 pedophiles, the Los Angeles Police Department found adult or child pornography (magazines, photos or videos) involved in 100% of the cases investigated.

When will our country realize that no amount of money or power is worth the loss of our morals, our families and our lives? The longer we refuse to acknowledge the damage that is being inflicted in our society because of pornography, the deeper a grave we will be digging for this "One Naion Under God."
