Purity
(Exerpt from elimiDATE)

"Yes, I am afraid that when I come again, God will humble me in your presence. And I will be grieved because many of you have not given up your old sins. You have not repented of your impurity, sexual immorality, and eagerness for lustful pleasure." (2 Cor. 12:21)

Purity means to be clean, unmixed. Impurity is uncleanness of any kind--anything that would make a person unfit to enter God's presence.

God made everything pure - holy - clean.
We have a choice to either remain pure - to protect our purity - or to give in and allow things into our life - unclean things that cause us to be unfit for God.

1. Prime Time TV
- 3 sexual acts per hour
- 85% of sitcoms deal with sex

2. Internet
- 30% of unsolicited email is porn
- 60% of all web page visits are sexual in nature
- Sex is the #1 search on the internet

3. Magazines, Commercials…
- Sex sells

There are many things out there trying to MIX-UP our purity. The truth is, God created sex! God created sex to be good & pure - in marriage.

God's word tells us to be holy as HE is holy, but we've been desensitized by the media and the culture of the past few generations. In reality, we are flirting with danger and it's going to end up killing us. The AIDs epidemic in Africa should be a warning sign to us.

Have you ever heard of an ERMINE? This small carnivor (also refered to as a stoat) is a member of the family Mustelidae, which also includes other weasels. It's brown fur changes to clean white in the winter for camouflage in hunting as well as for protection from other hunters. The winter coat of the ermine forms one of the most valuable of commercial furs.

Hunters have to work extreemly hard to catch an ermine. The ermine's size and speed, not to mention it's comouflage, make it quite difficult to track. However, hunters strategically place grease or oil at the entrance of it's den so that it will be stained and somewhat visible in the snow. To the ermin dirt means death.

Unfortunately there is a hunter after US as well. The Bible tells us that we have an enemy - Satan, the Devil - who roams around seeking to steal, kill and destroy YOU. He uses sex, something that God intended for good, and distorts it. He tempts us to compromise our purity and trade it in for a moment of pleasure.

We need to eliminate the dirt - impurity - in our life before it kills us!
