Testimony
When is tha last time you shared your testimony? You know, the story of what, when, why and how Jesus changed your life. People love to hear stories - especially personal ones. A Testimony is simple. Just asnwer these three basic questions.
1. What was you life like BEFORE you committed your life to Christ?
2. What brought you to the place of realizing your need for a relationship with Jesus?
3. What has changed in your life NOW that you have an ongoing relationship with Christ?
Some things to remember:
- Focus on the positive. Don't bring all the skeletons out of the closet and confess every sin thaht you've ever committed. Focus on one main point - loneliness, fear, addictions, lack of purpose - and how that kept you from real happiness.
- "Keep it simple, stupid." Don't try and debate theology or argue semantics. Remember, your sharing a story, not teaching a Sunday School class.
- Each point should be balanced and build to a climax of asking them if they would like to know how to have a relationship with Jesus and recieve the gift of eternal life.
- Practice your testimony until you can clearly articulate it in a 30 second and 3 minute format.
- SHARE IT as often as you can.
