God's Focus

What is on God's heart? The World - the place we often try to escape - is on God's heart. This truth is found in one of the first Scripture verses we learn as children, "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

When we put things that are important to God first in our lives, we find that God has a way of taking care of the other aspects of our lives. Scripture puts it this way, "Pagans run after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you have need of them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:32, 33). If we concern ourselves with the things that are important to God, He will concern himself with the things that are important to us.
