Check out Matthew 12:33-37"A tree is identified by it's fruit." (v33)
If you could be any type of tree in the world, what tree would you choose to be and why? I know that it's an odd question, but indulge me for a moment. Which would you choose?
Cedar - durable wood & fragrant oders
Sycamore - massive size and rugged endurance
Palm - beautiful, warm & inviting
Pine - ever green, never dies through the seasons
Oak - long life, provides shade
If you really were a tree, would people know what type you were? Would they know your identity...able to pick you out in a tree line-up?According to Jesus' words here in Matthew, our fruit is put on display by our words. Doctors tell us that we are what we eat. Jesus tells us that we are what we speak.
Don't let your words steal your identity.
