Our primary goal for our student ministry at this year's youth convention was two simple tasks. We knew that if we could work on accomplishing these two things we could have an awesome weekend! Those two goals were: deeper communication with God and deeper community with each other.

Communication involves speaking, listening and understanding. John 10:27 says, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." How does this happen? I know that we may not be able to read God's mind, but we can listen to his heart. We need to read His book, the Bible and learn about His character, His attributes, His priciples of life, and learn all about Him. We need to talk to Him through prayer, not just for our wants and needs, but also in everyday conversation. We also need to take time to listen for His voice in our spirit. He wants to demonstrate His love and give us direction in life, but sometimes we need to work on our social skills with Him. Check out Acts 2:42-47; 4:24; 5:40-42 for more.
Community life can sometimes be difficult but it brings power and blessing. Community includes encouraging one another, coporate prayer, sharing of your possesions, intimate freindships, and having strength in numbers (Philippians 2:1-5). A Revolutionary is community minded and realizes that "It's not about me".
This is the strategy of a Revolutionary; deeper consistent communication with God and deeper intimate community with one another.
