How Do I Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?
(Tim Enloe, Want More, pg60-83)

As we have said, the baptism and filling of the Holy Spirit is a free gift for all believers. The examples we discussed from Acts 2, 10 and 19 give us a simple pattern to follow when seeking to receive this gift.

A. Pursue Jesus
In Acts 2 they were pursing Jesus – praying and worshiping – as they waited for the promise of Holy Spirit.
In Acts 10, Cornelius called for Peter to come and teach them and they listened.
In Acts 19 the Ephesians were hungry to grow in their relationship with Christ.

B. They Holy Spirit Will “Come Upon” You
Since every believer is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16) and each one has the Spirit living in him (Romans 8:9), the coming upon of the Spirit has different meaning (Acts 1:8). You will suddenly be aware of His presence in a manner that wasn’t there just a moment ago.

C. Cooperate With The Holy Spirit

Chose to speak out in tongues as the Spirit enables you. You do the speaking, but He gives the script. You do the natural – speaking – as He does the supernatural – enabling. You are partners.
